Why We’re Not a Nonprofit (And Why That Matters)
Our mission is to remove barriers, create access, and provide help for anyone in need - without complicated requirements, judgment, or delay. We believe that hope should be accessible to all, and we have built our organization around that principle. We have intentionally chosen not to become a nonprofit. While nonprofit status offers certain benefits, it also comes with regulations, restrictions, and approval processes that could slow down our ability to act quickly and make decisions that put people first. Some of these rules could create the very barriers we work so hard to eliminate. By operating as a business, we retain 100% decision-making authority over how funds are used, where help is given, and how quickly we can respond to urgent needs. We can pivot, expand, and innovate without waiting for board approval or navigating complex compliance hurdles. We understand that as a for-profit entity, donations are not tax-deductible for our supporters, and we take full responsibility for paying taxes on all income we receive. We believe this is a fair trade-off to protect the heart of our mission and ensure that every decision reflects our vision, our values, and the real needs of the people we serve. Your support - whether through sponsorship, donation, or partnership - goes directly into funding immediate, meaningful assistance for individuals and families in our community. Together, we can keep The Bridge strong, agile, and always ready to extend hope without barriers.
